We have a beautiful home in the mountains near Asheville which we are offering for long term rent—from one to three and a half years. The house and the location are nothing less than spectacular.

In the mornings you can watch as the clouds move through the valley with the treetops peaking through, the mountains rising above the clouds and hawks and other birds gracefully riding the thermals.

The view is framed on both sides by gentle sloping mountains. The house has a “prow” of solid windows, 25 feet tall and 20 feet wide, offering a panoramic view of the Valley. Completely surrounding the house is a 4,000 square foot deck, perfect for relaxing, entertaining and dining. The fall colors are breathtaking, as the house is surrounded by trees, but in no way obstructing the lovely view. We have recently planted the land with over 50 pounds of wildflower seeds, and expect springtime all over the property to be a blaze of colors and textures. The setting is postcard quality.

The House—the house is a two-story, 3,200 square feet home, and is constructed with real logs. It has four bedrooms and three and a half baths. It is seven years old, with the floors newly refinished, a refurbished heat pump and an exterior that is freshly stained and sealed. The property has a new three car garage built this year.

The top floor has the two largest bedrooms with their own private baths and balconies overlooking the Valley. Two of the baths have whirlpool garden tubs with separate showers and lots of room. One has a Jacuzzi multi-head shower system, and both have large, double-bowled vanities.

The house has a gourmet kitchen, with two islands—one for food preparation and one for serving and use as a snack bar. The appliances are new or nearly new, with a Jenn-Aire grill, instant-on cooking surfaces and a warming drawer.

The Great Room is magnificent, rising 30 feet in a cathedral ceiling, with attractive beams and a beautiful wood-burning field stone fireplace on one end. Adjoining the Great Room is a library/recreation room, with the dining area also adjoining the Great Room. The house has an open, spacious feeling.

A roomy three-car garage is next to the house and the driveway is freshly graded and resurfaced.

The Location—the house is located just outside Mars Hill, approximately 15 minutes to Asheville, just north of the city. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is 10 minutes away and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 15 minutes. Mars Hill is a beautiful mountain college town with a quaint downtown area, a brand new, state-of-the-art grocery store, and very warm and welcoming residents. The house is just off a lightly traveled road, sitting on eight private acres, with no highways, industries, or other visual or sound distractions anywhere nearby. The only sounds you will hear will be the birds, the leaves rustling in the wind and the happy tree frogs at dusk.
